Before Silicon Valley, I was immersed in a completely different world: African languages and culture. I studied Yoruba, the dominant Nigerian language, for four years at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. From 2010-2011 I lived in Ibadan, Nigeria studying Yoruba language and culture with a program sponsored by American Councils for International Education.
